Woolworths is Coming Back!
What a surprise! I've just received an email saying that Woolies will be re-launching their website in the summer. As someone who's grown up with Woolworths being a permanent part of the high street, I was saddened when their shops had to close so this is brilliant news.
Shop Direct Home Shopping Limited, owners of the Littlewoods, Littlewoods Direct & Additions Direct Brands, among others, bought the Woolworths name and the Ladybird range of children's clothing. You can read more about this at TimesOnline.
The original Woolworths website was good, with excellent pricing, although they seemed to lack the amount of stock required on some items, but this shouldn't be a problem now. From what I've read, the new website won't feature so much general merchandise and homeware, but will focus more on the Ladybird range and gifts. I look forward with interest to see what will be on offer in the summer, and how the items will be priced.
